Thanks for checking into Transplanted Az! My name is Pat Poindexter, and I am a “transplant” to the Phoenix area. My husband and I moved here about 13 years ago and after one homesick bout, which caused us to move back home (that’s a great story I’ll definitely share), we figured out that Phoenix was really where we wanted to be.
We are Midwesterners, born and raised in Chicago Illinois and we’d never lived anywhere other than Chicago when we made the move to Phoenix. I’ve discovered many things that are worth sharing with others who might be considering the same move and by sharing, if I help one person make the transition and adjustment, that’s a good thing!
I am recently retired after 27 years with my company. I am a licensed real estate agent and looking to put that license back to work.
Since we live in the West Valley, I’ll talk a lot about West Valley cities, but I promise not to leave out the more established East Valley. The west is a very hot market, growing exponentially but there is so much to see and do in the East Valley.
East or West, I have a lot to unpack and share!
Please stop by weekly to see the new info I’ll be sharing and be sure to click the survey link at the top of this page or click this link: (https://transplantedaz.com/az-living-survey/) and let me hear from you about your “transplant” questions and experiences!

This is awesome Pat! My friend Troy just moved to AZ from Chicago. I would love to share this with him as he settles in to AZ life. He moved about a month ago and recently purchased a home.
Thanks Karen!! and please share it everyone you know. LOL!!!!!
Thank for leaving your feedback!
We have visited Arizona a few times. Including a outdoor wedding in Tucson on 7-7-07 when it was 118 degrees ….. Dry heat is amazingly different from Midwestern humid heat.
Looking forward to reading what you share even though we aren’t planning a move at the moment.
Thanks Amy – the website traffic is much appreciated!
